How to make the perfect Sea Moss gel

So you’ve finally got your hands on this hard to get treasure. Now what are you supposed to do with your raw, sun-dried sea moss?

Here’s the scoop on how to take your sea moss and transform it into the versatile, silky, smooth gel that you’ve heard so much about.

To make 1 large mason jar of sea moss gel:

1) Portion out a small handful of dried sea moss. Rinse it well, massaging the surface.

2) Soak the sea moss in a large enough bowl using spring or distilled water for 12-24hrs {Cover the whole amount of sea moss}. Squeeze 1 lime/lemon into the sea moss while soaking.

3) Once soaked, the sea moss will have increased in size, will be softer to the touch, more translucent & jelly like.
Take the sea moss and cut into smaller pieces with scissors before adding to blender. Pour in fresh spring or distilled water, enough to fully cover the amount of sea moss. The more water the softer the gel will be.

{Save the soaked water for your plants or to sip yourself as it is rich in minerals and electrolytes}

4) Blend on high. Add more water if needed and continue blending till you have a silky smooth gel. {Option to blend with 1-2 dates}

5) Transfer your smooth gel to a glass jar/jars and let cool on counter before storing in fridge.

6) The gel can be stored 3 weeks in the fridge and is perfect to include in your daily smoothies, soups, puddings, baked goods, desserts & much more. Use topically as a conditioning treatment, nourishing both your skin & hair.

And there you have it, an easy guide to make your own sea moss gel. Enjoy!
